After a family from Monterrey underwent a dangerous chase by armed men, the Government of Tamaulipas suspended the traffic officer for his inaction in the dangerous situation.

A family experienced moments of panic while being pursued by armed individuals on the road to Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. The events took place on Wednesday, January 8, when a family from Monterrey was heading to Nuevo Laredo. In a video shared on social media, a black Ford truck with Texas plates is seen attempting to block their path, but the driver quickly reacts by accelerating in search of help.

In the recording, a scared woman can be heard telling the driver not to stop and to seek help from local authorities. After moments of panic, the family manages to find a traffic police officer whom they stop, hoping for assistance; however, the officer does not intervene, allowing the armed individuals to close in and get out with long weapons.

The woman in the vehicle urges the driver to escape, and after maneuvering, they manage to evade the criminals, accelerating to over 100 kilometers per hour. The criminals initiate a chase, forcing the driver to dodge truck trailers and other vehicles while contacting the emergency number 911.

In response to this incident, the Government of Nuevo Laredo issued a statement expressing solidarity with the victims and assuring that authorities are investigating the case. Regarding the traffic officer involved, it was reported that he has been suspended while the investigation is ongoing. They expressed total rejection of illegality and a commitment to citizen safety, promising to work towards respect and trust in the institutions.
